Since emergencies don’t wait for appointments, we just recieive a previous notice from the ship’s medical staff about any emergency, and immediately we activate the readyness in the E.R., where we by-pass the patient coming from the ship via ambulance, also organized by ourselves (both, conventional, or medicalized, as needed).

Therefore, in Centro Médico Teknon we give priority of attention to crewmembers and guests coming from cruise ships, as we are aware about the short time the ships remain in the port of Barcelona.

They use to take care of the distance medicine (telemedicine) during the Barcelona World Races, in real time, for emergencies experimented by the skippers in high seas during the race (from December 2014 to March 2015).
